People raved about Rachael Blackmore after her last interview.
The Tipperary jockey appeared on the BBC’s Breakfast program and spoke brilliantly about the past year, which has seen her win several Cheltenham Festival races as well as the Grand National.
She said: “It’s been an amazing 12 months, really. I felt like at Cheltenham, I thought to myself, it hasn’t been 12 months since the Grand National at Aintree. I feel incredibly lucky, really really.”
Blackmore also showed his sense of humor in response to the conversation with the hosts saying, “It’s a privileged position. But for all those people (who want to know his riders), horses don’t win all the time. I ride a lot more losers like every jockey than winners, so be careful!”
A number of Irish Mirror readers praised Blackmore for the interview.
One said: “We are so lucky to see this brilliant rider such a lovely, down to earth person. Well done Rachael.”
Another commented: “Fabulous role model. Well done Rachel on all your accomplishments.”
Someone else added, “Great work ethic, professionalism and a basin full of guts! Yes, she really is a great role model for young girls and for everyone, frankly!”
Another message read: “Rachael is such a fantastic jockey and a very humble young lady…what she has achieved is just brilliant.”
“A fantastic young lady and a great representative of Irish racing,” read another.
