Born in Grenada, Mississippi but adopted by Memphis, Mac Tree learned the art of hustling, surviving, and maneuvering the cold, dark, and grimy streets of Bluff City and the surrounding area. As a young trapper, he hustled with a different purpose and mindset than his teenage counterparts. The goal was to support his family and get his mother out of the neighborhood. The different mindset was to not get ensnared, in the trap, like many of his close friends, associates and street contacts. Moreover, the youngster with an old soul and many talents like drawing and painting, liked to play football and basketball. However, it was his gift for putting words together in the form of freestyle raps that ultimately became Mac Tree’s favorite form of expression.

Mac Tree’s freestyles increased his popularity on the streets while achieving legendary hustler status that eventually led to him spending a lot of time in the infamous Mississippi prison, Parchman Farm. After its release in 2015, Mac Tree launched its own independent label, Mind of Billionaires Entertainment, LLC. who helped him grow from a former trapper to a legit business owner with an entrepreneurship comparison with Jay Z, Master P, Gucci Mane, 2Chainz, Kevin “Coach K” Lee, Pierre “P “Thomas and the late Young Dolph.

While staying true to himself and his grind, Mac Tree aims to leave his mark on the music industry, affect change, and connect with his fan base who appreciate and support authentic lyrics based on facts on a hard-hitting production. While echoing the sentiments of the late Tupac Shakur, Mac Tree explains, “The reason I decided to name my new project ‘I’m Not A Model’ is because kids look up to rappers, but rappers are not role models. Being an artist who really comes from the streets, I think it’s my duty to give them both sides of the game. I felt Pac when he said, ‘I don’t want to be a model. I just wanna be real. ”
